The All Partners Forum is the central convening moment for African science granting councils, funders, technical partners and policy actors in the early stages of SGCI-3 implementation.

Opening Plenary: Welcome Remarks

The plenary will formally open the SGCI All Partners Forum and situate it within Namibia’s national STI priorities and the broader STISA-2034 agenda. It will reaffirm the shared commitment of councils, funders, technical partners, and policy actors to move from commitment to coordinated action under SGCI-3, and highlight the role of the SGCI Alliance as a platform for partnership, coordinated investment, and collective implementation across Africa’s STI systems.

High-level dialogue on STI in Africa: the role of SGCI in STISA-2034 implementation

This high-level dialogue will bring together policymakers, science granting councils, the African Union Commission, the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), and key STI funders to discuss implementation plans for STISA-2034 and the role of SGCs and SGCI in advancing STI policy influence in Africa.

Research and innovation: aligning STISA-2034 implementation with national development priorities

A council-facilitated discussion on the dozens of national research and innovation calls to be launched as part of SGCI-3, including breakout group exchanges.

Research and innovation: enhancing research collaboration to address regional challenges

Led by the SGCI Thematic Working Groups, this session will shape the plans for support to the 20+ research consortia that will emerge from SGCI’s STISA-2034 multi-country calls in the areas of Agriculture, Health, Energy, Environment and AI/Digital Tech.

Scaling investments, building partnerships, and strategic alliances
